Working at Camp Burgess & Hayward means being part of a small, supportive team that shows up for each other and takes pride in the work we do. Our Outdoor Educators spend most of their days outside, leading students through environmental education, teambuilding, and challenge course programs on a really unique property. You’ll live on site, share meals, work hard, and build strong relationships with both coworkers and the groups we host. It’s a job where you’re trusted with real responsibility, encouraged to grow, and supported by people who care about doing things well.
• Lead environmental education classes and teambuilding programming with
confidence, accuracy, and enthusiasm
• Facilitate the safe use of our low ropes challenge course and rock wall
• Help facilitate the safe use of our high ropes course and zipline
• Facilitate the safe use of our waterfront
• Speak clearly and audibly in front of large audiences
• Provide friendly and helpful customer service to all of our guests
• Support house-keeping, grounds-keeping, and dining operations
Our staff training will cover class curriculum, group facilitation strategies, and technical
challenge course skills required for the job. You will have the dedicated support and
guidance of our experienced staff as you develop your leadership style and gain confidence
facilitating others in outdoor activities.
We offer competitive pay starting at $110 per day, with an increase to $116 per day for
those who have a lifeguard certification. Additionally, we provide comfortable staff
housing, all meals while you are working, access to the kitchen, laundry facilities, and
internet. Cape Cod is a fantastic place to live, and you will have access to a wide range of
outdoor recreation equipment to help you enjoy it!
• Passion for working outdoors with youth, teens, and adults
• Desire to facilitate environmental, teambuilding, and challenge course programs
• 21+ years old, with a college degree or relevant life experience
• Ability to live and work as a positive team-player in a collaborative residential
setting
• Physical ability to spend long, active hours outdoors in all elements, safely
facilitating others
• Lifeguard certification strongly preferred
