Outdoor Educator & Guide for Yosemite and Olympic National Parks!!

Lasting Adventures is a 501(c)(3) public benefit non-profit with a mission to foster environmental stewardship, teach responsible recreation, and provide opportunity for personal growth through the facilitation of impactful wilderness experiences. Lasting Adventures seeks to provide youth, families, and disadvantaged communities with positive experiences in America’s National Parks and natural spaces. We do this through several programs; backpacking trips for youth (Summer Camp), backpacking trips for all ages (Guide Service), and day hikes.

Job Overview

Lead a group of kids (about 10) with a co-guide on either 6-day, 13-day, or 27-day backpacking programs. Throughout the program, find moments to teach about native and people history, geology, flora & fauna, LNT, and beyond. Prep all food and gear for the trip and de-prep when all is done.

Minimum Requirements

  • Able to legally work in the United States (unfortunately, we are not an H2B Visa Employer)
  • Ability to attend our mandatory staff training at the end of May (Yosemite) or in  June (Olympic) – final dates to be determined.
  • Current Wilderness First Responder or higher AND current CPR/AED, kept valid through October 15*
  • CA Food Handlers Certificate/WA Food Worker Card, kept valid through October 15*
  • Able to pass a Department of Justice background check (fingerprinting required)
  • A minimum of 21 years old (18 for Assistants)
  • Solid communication and leadership skills
  • Outstanding customer service
  • Ability to work 5-7 days/week, 8-15 hours a day during regular duty
  • Although we do not require vaccinations, they are recommended
