Job Overview

Sierra Institute is a non-profit nestled in the unique rural landscapes of Northern California. Our mission is to promote healthy and sustainable forests and watersheds by investing in the well-being of rural communities and strengthening their participation in natural resource decision-making and programs. P-CREW is a six week youth corps program that provides paid summer employment to high school students from rural and urban areas across Northern California to work on meaningful conservation and restoration projects in the Sierra Nevada Mountains. This intense experience is uniquely capable of providing a vibrant and diverse community that fosters positive growth and friendship while developing a connection with the land.

Crew leaders are integral  to the success of P-CREW and beyond their supervisory duties, provide mentorship and emotional support to their crew members. Thus, applicants must demonstrate a commitment to youth development and stewardship. A paid five-week training will be provided to crew leaders to develop their leadership and restoration project skills prior to the start of P-CREW.

40-50 hours per week during training and 54 hours per week during P-CREW Youth Corps Program.

All meals included for duration of 6 week youth program.
