RMYC Internship partner with the US Forest Service and Bureau of Land Management to give participants valuable experience working directly with these federal partners.

Job Overview

Multiple internships with the US Forest Service and Bureau of Land Management in partnership with Rocky Mountain Youth Corps.

Current positions include:

– USFS Sign installation Crew – Steamboat Springs, CO
– USFS Wilderness Trail Crew – Flat Tops Wilderness, CO
– USFS Trail Crew – Dillon, CO
– USFS Trails and Recreation Crew – Rifle, CO
– USFS Backcountry Trail Crew – Aspen, CO (AmeriCorps)
– USFS Trail Crew – Aspen, CO
– USFS Backcountry Trail Crew – Eagle-Vail, CO (AmeriCorps)
– BLM Ecological Monitoring Crews – Craig, Kremmling, Meeker, and Silt, CO (AmeriCorps)

Additional positions will be added throughout November, December, and January.

Special Benefits

Upon successful completion of the season the incumbent will qualify for the Public Land Corps Hiring Authority which gives priority hiring when applying for jobs with the USFS.  It would take two years of year-round work with the USFS to qualify at the same level.  In order to qualify for this you will need to complete and log at least 80 hours of education in your off-time to reach the minimum 640 hours required.
