Four Corners Logistics Manager

Title: SCC Four Corners Logistics Manager Starting Salary Range: $24.85-25.60/hour, depending on experience, education, and skills relevant to the position. Please note that the indicated starting salary range describes the range for an incumbent in this position. Most new staff generally start at the beginning of the range percentile to ensure internal salary equity. Location: Durango, Colorado/Not Remote Eligible. Status:  Full-Time, Non-Exempt, OT Eligible Benefit Eligible: Health, Vision, Dental, Short/Long-Term Disability, Basic Life Retirement, Paid Time Off per Personnel Policies, Supplemental benefits including critical care, pet insurance, supplemental life, and others. Job Overview

The Logistics Manager (LM) primary responsibility is to support logistics for the field crews based out of the Four Corners Office with an emphasis on equipment, tools, vehicles, gear, PPE, uniforms, herbicide and food. The position will support adult, youth and watershed crews. Additionally, the LM will assist in creation and implementation of field-based leadership and technical skills training to support the development of SCC’s field staff and corps members, as well as completing field visits to provide support to crews, field leadership, and partners. Some evening and weekend work required; a flexible schedule is a must. Reports to the SCC Senior Manager of Logistics and Training Support.

Minimum Requirements

Qualifications: 

  • Three - Four years of experience in all or most of the following: trail construction & maintenance, chainsaw operation & maintenance, hand tool maintenance, GIS, fencing, pesticide use, running backcountry crews, conservation-based programming.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, leadership, mentoring, and facilitation skills.
  • Flexibility, adaptability, and capacity to work in a fluid, changing work environment.
  • Able to work independently and to motivate others.
  • Computer literate (MS Word, Excel, and Outlook proficient).
  • Valid driver’s license and an insurable driving record.
  • Must be able to pass Conservation Legacy’s criminal history checks.
  • Excellent organizational, managerial, and problem-solving skills.
  • Desire to spend time in the company of youth and young adults.
  • Strong conflict resolution and team building skills.
  • Current CPR & WFR certified, or willingness to obtain.
  • Experience in fleet management, small engine repair, and hand tool repair and maintenance.
  • Experience with facilities maintenance, including basic construction, electrical and plumbing skills at an awareness level to be able to assess next steps.
  • Ability to carry out assigned work independently or with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, manage complexity, cultivate innovation, drive and influence results of oneself and others.
