Job Overview

Become a leader for our 2023 Climate Corps- Energy & Water Conservation program! The Energy & Water
Conservation program (E&W) is a team-based, 48 week program for individuals between the ages 18-24. E&W Crew
Leaders guide and support E&W participants (called Corpsmembers) as they serve on community-based energy
and water conservation projects throughout the Denver metro area. Crew Leaders will be enrolled in

AmeriCorps—a national community service program.

Crew Leaders will earn up to $37,695 over a 48 week term of service in total compensation.

provide you with hands-on training related to all projects, and skills and certificates that will lead you to a

future in green industries.

Special Benefits

  • Training: Hands on training in public outreach and engagement, community organizing, data collection and management, and installation of conservation materials. Additional training and ongoing education for leadership, customer service, climate action, environmental racism, DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion), and career readiness/development.
  •  Supportive Services: MHYC provides resources for mental health counseling, transportation costs, food security, and other personal needs
  •  Health Benefits: May be eligible for health insurance after serving at MHYC for 60 days. Members will have a share of the monthly health insurance premium.
  • Student Loan Forbearance: Possible through the National Service Trust on qualifying federal government student loans.

Minimum Requirements

  •  Between 21-24 years old. Must be eligible for enrollment in AmeriCorps as a US Citizen, National, or Lawful Permanent Resident. Documentation will be required on the first day.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • English proficiency; bi-lingual, Spanish speaking applicants strongly encouraged to apply.
  • Capable of participating in physical labor including but not limited to: ability to lift 50 lbs., able to conductrepetitive hand and arm motions, and able to maneuver in tight spaces, including bending and kneeling.
