Job Overview
Position and job location
This position will be based either in Mfuwe, or at an alternative agreed location and will provide support for proposal development or grant management to the CEO CSL.
Position within the organisation
- The Grant Manager reports to the CEO
- The Grant Manager will support the CEO, CSL Head of Finance and work closely with all field project staff and project managers to ensure programs are being effectively implemented
- The Grant Manager will work to ensure current relationships with partners and donors are supported and enhanced
Job objective
- Support and manage the CSL fundraising and reporting programs
- Manage existing donor proposals and budgets
- Identify and develop new donor proposals and budgets
- Manage and coordinate approved grants to ensure donor expectations are met with regards to technical and financial reporting, and monitoring and evaluation plans are developed
- Ensure effective and transparent management and compliance to donor guidelines, grant contracts, and administrative obligations
- Maintain CSL’s reputation as a credible and respected conservation organization in Zambia
Main Outputs:
Grant Development
- Develop a 2 – 3 year funding strategy
- Identify new funding opportunities
- Develop project concepts, associated budgets and operational plans
- Establish and coordinate the CSL team for technical and financial input for proposal development
Grant Coordination
- Support timely initiation and coordination of work plans, reports, proposal writing and budget development
Grant Administration
- Monitor governance and financial management
- Support CSL Head of Finance to ensure efficient and transparent use of donor funds
Grant Monitoring & Evaluation
- Develop and implement effective, quality, results-based planning, monitoring & evaluation systems and processes
Minimum Requirements
The ideal candidate will have:
- A minimum of a Bachelors’ degree in environment, conservation, social science or related field;
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in successful international NGO fundraising – grant writing and reporting
- Skilled in public presentations and donor relations
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication abilities, including excellent writing, verbal and listening skills
- Experience in developing and maintaining partnerships with a diversity of key stakeholders
- Ability and willingness to travel nationally and internationally on a regular basis
- Fluent in English
- Experience of financial management and reporting
- Able to work with minimum supervision
- Able to work as part of a team
