Job Overview

Position Title:              Grant Writer

Position Status:           Part-Time or Full-Time options available

Reports to:                  Executive Director

Direct Reports:            None   

Salary:                         $25/hour

Dates:                          January 1 – December 31, 2023

 

The CFI Grant Writer helps grow the grant writing activities for Canyonlands Field Institute. Funds raised will support CFI’s Annual Fund, as well as help underwrite our school and youth programs, scholarships, young adult internships and apprenticeships programs.

 

Primary Responsibilities

 

  • Study and understand the history, structure, objectives, programs, and financial needs of the organization.
  • Research grant opportunities from government and non-government agencies.
  • Draft grant proposals and supporting documents based on the funding requirements of the organization.
  • Submit proposals to grant coordinators for approval.
  • Respond to internal and external queries on drafted and submitted proposals.
  • Maintain positive relationships with fund providers and other stakeholders.
  • Maintain records and submit reports related to grant opportunities.
  • Meet organizational goals for the number of grants applied for and obtained.
  • Assist other activities of the Development Department’s work as needed.
  • Spend at least 20% of work time in the Moab office or on CFI programs.
