Job Overview

Looking for an exciting summer nursing job? Camp Cedar in Casco, Maine is hiring RNs, new grads, and senior nursing students for this summer! Nursing staff orientation begins Thursday, June 17, 2021 and camp ends on Friday, August 13, 2021 (*Dates may change slightly due to Covid rules and regulations in the state of Maine). We prefer nurses to stay for the entire summer, but are open to flexible dates as well. Nurses work in a well-equipped health center on a team of 5-6 nursing staff with a physician who is present on campus. Nurses are an extremely important part of our camp community and participate in all camp activities and are a part of the daily planning of the camp program promoting health and wellness!

Our campers are healthy boys aged 7 to 15 years. We have approximately 300 campers and 150 staff who join us from all over the world! Campers stay for the entire 7-week season. RNs will have their own room in the health center and a shared bathroom. Students will share a room in the female staff cabin with other female staff from around the globe! We are seeking fun, outgoing individuals who can work in a fast-paced clinic-style environment.

Camp nurses need to be excellent assessors and critical thinkers. RNs need to be licensed in the State of Maine or hold a Multi-State License from a Compact state. New Grads must have completed all degree requirements and be actively preparing to take the NCLEX exam – time is granted in our schedule for studying! It is expected that you will be ready to take the exam prior to the campers arriving on June 24th. Senior students preferably have completed their third year of a four-year program and have completed at minimum one med/surg clinical and a health assessment course.
