Job Overview

Help Little Hearts Grow—One Giggle, One Discovery at a Time

Do you love the magic of early childhood—the curiosity, the first words, the muddy shoes after outdoor play? The Bennett Preschool Assistant Teacher role is your chance to make a real impact during the most important years of a child’s life, all while being part of a mission-driven community that leads with heart.

Why This Role Matters

As a Preschool Assistant Teacher, you’ll help create a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for children ages 6 weeks to 5 years. From indoor learning moments to outdoor adventures in all kinds of weather, you’ll support children’s growth socially, emotionally, physically, and spiritually—every single day.

What You’ll Do

  • Care for and supervise young children with safety, patience, and joy
  • Help implement age-appropriate curriculum and creative programming
  • Encourage positive behavior and model YMCA core values
  • Observe child development and document milestones through notes, photos, and videos
  • Anticipate and respond calmly to safety needs
  • Assist with daily routines, cleaning, and opening/closing duties
  • Be a flexible team player, supporting other departments when needed

What We’re Looking For

  • A genuine love for working with children
  • Positive energy, teamwork, and strong communication skills
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and stay active throughout the day
  • Basic computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • First Aid & CPR certified (or willing to obtain)
  • At least 18 years old and fluent in English
  • Experience with children is a plus—but not required

Our Culture

At YMCA of the Rockies, our mission guides everything we do. We put Christian principles into practice and live out our values of caring, honesty, respect, responsibility, and faith. We’re committed to creating a welcoming environment where children, families, and staff feel safe, supported, and inspired.

If you’re passionate about kids, energized by meaningful work, and ready to be part of something bigger than a job—this could be the perfect fit.

Come help shape the future, one child at a time
