Job Overview
The Program Manager facilitates programs and provides successful training, safety, administration, and implementation of all aspects of CDA’s outdoor recreation program for people with disabilities and our volunteers. This includes, but is not limited to: organizing, staffing, leading, and conducting program activities and ensuring proper risk management. This position reports directly to the Program Director.

This position is a full-time 32 to 40 hrs/ week position that may include weekends depending on the season and program. The hours may vary depending on the demands of our partners, and program events. Office hours generally fall between Monday to Friday 7 am – 6 pm MST. Time will flex to accommodate the demand of the evening and weekend hours for the program. The Program Manager is responsible for opening and closing the office before and after office hours.

Responsibilities:

Programs-

Plan and facilitate CDA programs, including skiing and snowboarding, adaptive cycling, river trips, hockey, and day camps for a wide variety of individuals with disabilities. Supports with communication between participant needs and volunteers. Conducts volunteers in the delivery of high-quality and safe programming, stepping into any and all activities that need your participation.

Data and Reporting-

Capacity to transfer data into holistic reports, review, decipher, and provide insight from the data. Work with other CDA staff and volunteers to ensure all registrations, scheduling, billing, and daily reporting are completed. Develop and maintain good relationships with volunteers, participants, and community partners. Support with providing information for and creating social media posts regularly about the programs being offered for recruitment and public awareness. Assure that all elements of participant registration and activities are logged in our data system within 3 business days of the activity.

Volunteers-

Support the Program Director with communication with volunteers and ensuring volunteers complete program training, and necessary paperwork, and are aware of how to sign up for volunteer opportunities. Assure that all volunteer paperwork, information, and volunteer hours are promptly documented in the volunteer database.

Risk Management/ Right to Risk Facilitator-

Responsible for managing the daily operation of CDA sports programs and mitigating and managing the overall risk for CDA sports activities. Notifies volunteers of all duties or tasks, and ensures proper coverage and travel practices are adhered to. Supports with assessing and coordinating risk management policies and practices specific to program delivery, personnel training, and transportation of equipment and clients.

Will exercise strong analytical skills to review and act upon policies, programmatic needs, individual needs, and individual’s rights to risk, and make determinations at the moment that honors these factors equally.

The Manager must:

  • Have the ability to drive a 15-passenger van and be able to safely tow and back up trailers as necessary.
  • Be a positive representative of CDA programs, events, and activities in our community.
  • Comply with all CDA policies and procedures.
  • Participate fully as a member of the CDA staff and volunteer team.

Skills:

  • Strong administrative skills to effectively manage program operations
  • Independence in completing tasks, decision making, and risk assessment and management.
  • Excellent group facilitation and team management skills.
  • Exhibit a high level of professionalism and respect for all members of the CDA community.
  • Express a high level of energy and enthusiasm when dealing with groups of participants and initiative.
  • Experience leading and coordinating recreation programs.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Assist in the maintenance and repair (or willingness to learn) of equipment and facilities.
  • Proficiency in using various computer-based programs, including Google Suite, MS Office, social media platforms, and databases.
  • Ability to lift and carry a minimum of 50 lbs including sports equipment.
  • Commitment to a positive, fun, and team-oriented working environment.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Clear background check and demonstration of clean driving record.
  • Work flexible hours; regular schedule may include weekend work.
  • Wilderness First Responder Preferred.

Working Conditions:

  • Work is primarily completed in an office setting. Ability to sit for long periods.
  • If requested, employees may work from home due to health hazards for a temporary time.
  • Local and distant travel may also occur regularly outside of the office.

Travel:

  • Travel may be required in and/or out of the city and state.
  • Must be able to travel outside of the office for meetings and other events.
  • Travel may require overnight stays.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk using a computer for up to 8 hours a day.
  • May move about the office for tasks.
  • Must be able to differentiate between colors.
  • Must be able to travel in an automobile, airplane or other modes of transportation.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.23 per hour

Expected hours: 32 – 40 per week
