Adventure Guide and Teambuilding Facilitator

Terrapin Adventures connects people to nature, and people to each other! Terrapin Adventures is an Adventure Park and Teambuilding facility located in Savage, Maryland. We host guests recreationally, as well as in-house youth camps and programming, experiential education for schools and scouts, corporate-level teambuilding facilitation, and other outdoor and experiential programs!

Job Overview

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Lead guests in a safe and fun manner through our challenge course, which includes a zip line, giant swing, high ropes courses, climbing tower for people ages 5 and older.
  • Demonstrate the ability to build trust, confidence, and good communication with guests.
  • Lead corporate, school, and other groups in team-building activities designed to improve communication, leadership, trust, teamwork, and problem-solving.
  • Lead participants to enjoy our adventure center via parties and other fun events.
  • Communicate with guests and staff in a professional and friendly manner that instills trust, support and creates lasting memories
  • Assess the safety functionality of all adventure equipment before use.  Makes sure that the adventure park is clean of trash, safe, and in good working order
  • Act as a positive ambassador whenever asked about the company and its service offerings

Other Duties & Responsibilities

  • Lead guests on offsite tours including caving, backpacking, kayaking, mountain biking, hiking, fishing, geocaching, and river tubing in both youth and adult groups.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of eco-tourism aspects (local flora, fauna, geology, history, fun facts)
  • Answer phones, complete maintenance logs, make reservations, register guests, conduct business transactions, and collect fees for tours, food, and store sales.
  • Help with maintenance and upkeep of challenge courses, grounds, and equipment.
