Mount Rushmore National Memorial symbolizes the ideals of freedom and democracy; it is a tribute to four presidents: Washington, Jefferson, Roosevelt, and Lincoln, and their invaluable contributions to the founding, expansion, preservation, and unification of the United States. Each year, more than 3 million visitors from all over the world come to visit our nation’s Shrine of Democracy.
Mt Rushmore is located in the Black Hills National Forest of western South Dakota. Above dense forests and pristine streams, the Mount Rushmore National Memorial represents a national treasure.

Xanterra is the concessionaire in charge of operating the public, non-government guest services at the Memorial. The hospitality services we provide include: a cafeteria, ice cream and fudge shops and a world-class gift shop. As Mount Rushmore receives millions of visitors each summer, you can imagine the need for many employees; each working with one goal in mind; to make sure every visitor enjoys their stay. Not all the jobs are glamorous and, make no mistake about it, they all require work. Room and Board
Your Home in the Hills!Housing at Mount Rushmore is one of the best employee accommodations in the National Parks. The dormitory-style residence, Kay Riordan-Steuerwald Hall, offers housing for more than 120 employees. Completely carpeted, furnished with a desk secretary and bed, each room has a private bath/shower and secure closets.Check out this video of our dorms!
Wi-fi and laundry facilities are also provided.
In addition to these amenities, shuttle services is provided during peak season to transport employees to work or meals.
Employees are responsible for personal conduct and cleanliness in assigned residences. The dormitory is a SMOKE-FREE building.
Employee meals are served in the Employee Dining Room. Please note that because of the number of employees that are fed each day, restricted diets, including strict vegetarian diets, are very difficult to accommodate.
Lodging and meals are provided at a cost of $106.00 per week which is deducted from each paycheck.
Dormitory housing for married couples is available only when the Company employs both, with limited availability. Xanterra is not able to provide housing for families with children, and no guests or family members may be accommodated in employee quarters.
RV sites are available at a cost of $60.00 per week, which includes water, sewer, and electricity. Units must be fully self-contained and no older than 1980.

Positions start in May and last until September 30th, 2021.
Responsibilities:
Assist customers in a courteous and knowledgeable manner, acting as first contact with visitors as they arrive to the Memorial.
Responsible for issued bank, including accuracy and security.
Operate fee computer or cash register; maintain accurate entries, charges, change, and deposits.
Maintain cleanliness of booth and grounds and perform housekeeping duties as assigned.
Direct traffic within the parking facility and act as crossing guard for pedestrian walkways as assigned.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Six months of previous cash handling experience.
Six months of previous experience working outdoors.
Public contact experience with a willingness to courteously interact with a broad cross-section of customers in a high-volume seasonal parking operation.
Good verbal communication skills.
Ability to properly handle and secure cash and credit cards; basic math skills and ability to make change.
Ability to work with minimal supervision while maintaining guidelines set by supervisor.
Ability to work in fluctuating temperatures in an outdoor environment.
Ability to stand/walk continuously for eight to ten hours.
