Head Housekeeper at Retro Stardust Motel in Wallace, Idaho

Because you’ll work where people vacation. Stardust Motel sits in historic Wallace, ID—minutes from Lookout Pass, the Route of the Hiawatha, and the Trail of the Coeur d’Alenes. We’re a small, independent team (no corporate maze) where your effort shows up the same day: spotless rooms, happy guests, and teammates who have your back. You’ll learn real skills—housekeeping standards, light maintenance basics, front-desk tools—and grow into more responsibility if you want it. We keep things friendly, clear, and practical: checklists that work, communication that sticks, and a pace that makes the day fly. Off the clock? Ski, ride, hike, and explore a mountain town with character. If you like getting things done, helping people feel at home, and clocking out in a place that begs you to go outside, Stardust is your spot. https://www.stardustwallace.com/

Job description:

Head Housekeeper — Stardust Motel (Wallace, North Idaho)

Be the on-floor lead at the Stardust Motel, a retro spot in historic Wallace, North Idaho. We’re perfectly placed for play: skiing at Lookout Pass, biking the Route of the Hiawatha, and cruising the Trail of the Coeur d’Alenes right past our door. Keep rooms spotless, coach a solid team, and spend your off hours in the mountains.

The Vibe

Hands-on doer, high energy with a coach’s heart—set the pace, keep standards high, and make clean look easy. You like a good checklist, a tidy cart, and a team that communicates.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead daily room flow: assign, clean, inspect, and release on time.
  • Coach the crew: quick tips, friendly feedback, on-the-spot fixes.
  • Own deep cleans & seasonal projects (baseboards, vents, grout, fixtures).
  • Light maintenance: bulbs/batteries, tighten loose hardware; report bigger fixes.
  • Keep statuses accurate in InnRoad; partner with Front Desk on RemoteLock codes/batteries.
  • Stock smart: carts/closets at par; laundry coordinated so turns stay on schedule.
  • Keep shared spaces guest-ready: lobby touch-ups, entries, brochure rack.
  • Safety first: labeled chemicals, wet-floor signs, team lifts, clear pass-downs.

You’ll Thrive If You…

  • Have strong housekeeping chops (2+ years as a head housekeeper)
  • Notice the details and move with purpose.
  • Communicate clearly in writing and person-to-person.
  • Can hold the bar kindly—and help others meet it.

Nice-to-Haves

  • InnRoad/OTAs/Akia familiarity (we’ll train).
  • Basic “fix-it” comfort (nothing fancy).
  • Love of snow days, bluebird skies, and small-town charm.

Schedule & Basics

  • On-site in Wallace, ID.
  • Typical daytime window; weekends/holidays as needed – must have flexibility
  • Physical: on your feet, stairs/short ladders, lift/carry up to 50 lbs (team lifts for heavier).

Perks

  • Real teamwork, real impact (independent motel, not corporate).
  • Grow leadership and systems skills.
  • Work where people vacation—mountains, trails, and history all around.
