Winter Guide – Snowy Owl Sled Dog Tours
Canmore, Alberta – Full-Time Seasonal Position

Are you friendly, personable, and hardworking? Do you love dogs, thrive in the outdoors, and have the stamina for long winter days in the mountains? If so, we’d love to meet you!
Note: Staff accommodation is NOT available.

About the Role
As a Winter Guide, you’ll be part of a passionate team dedicated to delivering unforgettable dog sledding adventures in the Canadian Rockies. From caring for our husky heroes to engaging with guests and guiding tours, every day is an opportunity to create lasting memories for our visitors from around the world.

Location: Canmore, Alberta – work in person, surrounded by stunning mountain views every day.

Who We’re Looking For
We’re seeking motivated individuals who are:

  • Committed to excellent sled dog welfare at all times
  • Caring, professional, and courteous
  • Physically fit with great attention to detail
  • Hardworking team players who can also work independently in remote areas
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, high-energy environment
  • Fluent in English
  • Capable of safely handling energetic and powerful sled dogs

Bonus Skills (Preference will be given to applicants with):

  • Class 5 Driver’s Licence & minimum 3 years of winter driving experience
  • Clean driver’s abstract
  • Experience with skid steers, snowmobiles, snowshoes, or trail grooming
  • Chainsaw & axe skills
  • Radio communication experience
  • Tool use, carpentry, trailer driving, & maintenance skills
  • Experience with tire chains & large vehicle maintenance
  • Mechanical, veterinary, animal husbandry, or outdoor guiding background
  • Prior sled dog handling or guiding experience

Requirements

  • Legally able to work in Canada until April 30, 2026
  • Current First Aid & CPR certification

Wage & Perks

  • $18.00 – $25.00/hour (based on experience)
  • Additional pay: Tips
  • Work schedule: 12-hour shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed
