Job Overview

We are seeking a contract Trail Running Guide & Logistics Support team member to join our guiding team. This hybrid role includes guiding trail runs, supporting multi-day trips, and assisting with essential on-ground logistics such as transportation, route execution, guest support, meal/catering coordination, and airport/transfer assistance.

This position is ideal for a professional guide who loves running, thrives in the outdoors, enjoys working with people, and is comfortable managing both on-trail responsibilities and behind-the-scenes logistics.

Responsibilities

Guiding & Group Leadership

  • Lead daily trail runs ranging from easy scenic routes to more challenging terrain (up to 15 miles in one go)
  • Manage group pacing, safety, morale, and trail communication
  • Support guests of mixed running abilities while maintaining an inclusive, positive atmosphere
  • Provide regional insights, context, and a friendly presence throughout the trip
  • Uphold high standards of safety, professionalism, and risk management
  • Assist in the organization of and arrangement of pre-trip logistics when necessary

On-Ground Logistics & Support

  • Assist with transportation of guests, guides, and gear (using provided rental vehicles)
  • Coordinate airport pickups, transfers, and trailhead shuttles
  • Help maintain trip flow including timing, transitions, and daily schedule execution
  • Assist with trip operations such as catering support, gear/meal setup/breakdown, and trailhead logistics
  • Collaborate closely with lead guides, local partners, and operations staff

Minimum Requirements

  • Must be 21 years or older
  • Based in the U.S. (for easier travel and proximity to destinations)
  • Have a wide-range of availability between the months of June-September
  • Be able to travel to possibly multiple destinations in the U.S. to guide such as Bend, OR
  • Experience in outdoor adventure travel, trail running, or endurance sports
  • Prior guiding experience (not limited to trail running)
  • Current Wilderness First Aid (WFA) or Wilderness First Responder (WFR) certification
  • Comfortable running and guiding on trails for multiple consecutive days
  • Experience leading multi-day group trips (6–14 guests)
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license, clean driving record, and comfortable driving vans up to 15-passenger.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot and solve problems quickly in dynamic environments
  • Enthusiasm for running, travel, and working with people
  • Ability to stay calm, confident, and adaptable under changing conditions

Preferred

  • Based in the West U.S. (for easier travel and proximity to destinations)
