Sea Kayak Guide

Our mission at Pangaea Adventures is to supply our guests with an experience which will bring them closer to the natural surroundings of Alaska in a way that balances recreation and education. Our tours are designed for the traveler interested in filling their days with a healthy amount of activity while getting the opportunity to really soak in the surroundings. The use of sea kayaks is probably the least intrusive way to explore the wonders of the world. By way of foot and raft we can wind our way through mountain passes and deep into river valleys for further exploration of Alaska’s wild side. We are an Alaska specialist in sea kayaking, whitewater rafting, backpacking and multi-sport adventure tours. When you join us, you are joining a company who guides only in these waters and these mountains. We offer the local knowledge!

Job Overview

We are looking for positive, hard-working, team-oriented individuals who would like to spend summers, working a fun, rewarding job as a sea kayaking guide with cool people in a beautiful place. Our guides lead small groups of people on sea kayak tours in tidewater glacier zones and throughout the bafflingly pretty area of Prince William Sound surrounding Valdez. Our main goal is to have these outings be lead safely and informatively. We do require that all guides have their Wilderness First Responder. We are also looking for these guides to possess solid judgment, sound common sense, and good people skills. The dates of employment run 5/10-9/15 and busy, full-season guides can gross $7K-$8k across the course of the season (that’s before taxes and after tips!). Living is provided in a choice, rustic spot on the edge of town, within a quick bike ride from our office, which is right on the harbor. The only expenses guides should have to worry about are getting to and from Valdez, food, and whatever entertainment they get into.
