Job Overview

The primary purpose and function of this position is to manage the operations of Shadowcliff’s Compassionate Kitchen in a manner consistent with our principles of hospitality and sustainability. The Kitchen Manager/Cook can expect to oversee approximately 15-17 food groups of varying size and duration as well as 6-8 special events throughout the season. The Kitchen Manager/Cook will plan and prepare meals for groups as well as for staff, supervising kitchen assistants, rotating hospitality assistants, and volunteers in group meal preparation, service, and clean-up.

Minimum Requirements

  • Solid understanding of commercial kitchen operations.
  • Demonstrated management, leadership, and/or supervisory abilities in the food service and/or hospitality industries.
  • Experience in food service work with cooking experience in a variety of styles. 
  • Familiarity with cooking whole-food, nutrient-dense, delicious meals.
  • Good communication skills and a positive, supportive attitude in the kitchen.
  • Sign Employment & Community Standards Agreement

  • Food Protection Manager Certification
