Job Overview

Overview

The AmeriCorps Program Coordinator (Program Coordinator III) promotes effective AmeriCorps service throughout Utah Conservation Corps (UCC) programming and provides leadership in UCC program development and planning. This position works under the direction of the Center for Community Engagement Director.

 

This position is telework eligible within the state of Utah. Telework outside of the state of Utah is subject to review and approval by the University prior to a job offer being extended.

Responsibilities

Responsibility Number: 1 Rank: 1 Percent: 60%
Ensures AmeriCorps grant compliance related to member management practices and progress reporting.

  • Coordinates with Utah Conservation Corps (UCC) staff to ensure recruited AmeriCorps members are enrolled on AmeriCorps grants.
  • Coordinates onboarding for 200+ AmeriCorps members per year.
  • Distributes, collects, organizes, and monitors documents necessary for 200+ AmeriCorps member files per year.
  • Implements, monitors, and collects National Service Criminal History Check data for 200+ AmeriCorps members and UCC staff.
  • Designs, facilitates, and coordinates new member orientations.
  • Manages member status and slot availability in Egrants for multiple AmeriCorps grants.
  • Monitors service hour reporting by members and approval by site supervisors.
  • Monitors, collects, analyzes, and compiles weekly progress report data, other accomplishment data, and project sponsor evaluations.
  • Creates and submits quarterly and final progress reports for multiple AmeriCorps grants.
  • Creates and maintains organizational policy and procedural documents as required
  • Representative for UCC at State AmeriCorps Program Director meetings, national conferences and other AmeriCorps meetings & events.

Responsibility Number: 2 Rank: 2 Percent: 25%
Serves as member of UCC administrative staff to provide proper organizational planning and support.

  • Meets weekly with UCC administrative staff.
  • Works with UCC Projects and Partners Coordinator to establish seasonal recruitment goals and field crew needs.
  • Works with Center for Community Engagement (CCE) Director and UCC administrative staff to develop programs that meet UCC mission, vision, and goals.
  • Works with CCE director and UCC Individual Placement & Disaster Response Coordinator on development of program, partners, and funding sources.
  • Participates in yearly program staff retreats to address the program areas of strategic planning, recruitment goals, and AmeriCorps compliance.
  • Schedules and attends professional meetings with current and potential project partners, as needed.
  • Serves as a liaison between UCC administrative and field staff, hourly employees, other departments, faculty, and partnering organizations nationwide to coordinate and implement the UCC AmeriCorps program.
  • Supervises hourly UCC Office Assistant.
  • Supervises UCC Communications Coordinator.
  • Supervises Program Coordinator I (UCC Individual Placement and Disaster Response Program Coordinator)
  • Oversees coordination of UCC Individual Placement program and Resource Assistant program when UCC Individual Placement and Disaster Response Program Coordinator is deployed for Disaster Response operations.

Responsibility Number: 3 Rank: 3 Percent: 15%
Database and programmatic monitoring and development.

  • Monitors and organizes multiple data tracking systems created for data collection and member information tracking and management.
  • Collaborates with UCC administrative staff to develop and implement effective data tracking systems.
  • Facilitates programmatic development with quarterly reviews of the UCC AmeriCorps program policies, procedures, and programmatic documents.
  • Develops and distributes surveys to gather programmatic feedback.
  • Coordinates with UCC Communications Coordinator to keep a database of all UCC AmeriCorps field crew applicants and members.
  • Coordinates with UCC Individual Placement & Disaster Response Program Coordinator to keep a database of all UCC disaster response and individual placement applicants and members.

Special Benefits

Advertised Salary

$46,550 minimum commensurate with experience plus excellent benefits

Minimum Requirements

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in related field plus two years of relevant work experience; or a master's degree in a related field; or an equivalent combination of education plus experience is required.
  • Experience with Windows and Mac.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Job offer contingent upon a successfully passed background check.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of AmeriCorps Egrants database preferred.
  • Knowledge of conservation corps operations preferred.
  • Experience developing partnerships with federal, state, and non-profit organizations preferred.
