About Trinchera Ranch

Trinchera Ranch is a premier private guest ranch located in the center of the Sangre de Cristo mountain range. The intimate Trinchera Lodge offers a range of accommodations that make it an ideal setting for small groups, including executive corporate retreats, weddings, and family reunions. Hospitality can provide customized itineraries and special meal arrangements. Activities include fly fishing, hiking, mountain biking, rock climbing, and wildlife viewing.

Comprising approximately 172,000 acres, Trinchera is protected in perpetuity by conservation easements, held by both the United States Fish and Wildlife Service and Colorado Open Lands. Three 14,000-foot peaks are located on the property, and the acreage of Trinchera is part of the Sangre de Cristo Conservation Corridor. Spanning approximately 90 miles, this corridor is one of the most unique and consolidated networks for protected lands under public and private ownership in the United States. Over 800,000 acres stretch from Great Sand Dunes National Park into New Mexico. Trinchera operates with a shared responsibility to our guests and conservation.

Training for CPR certifications are provided for all staff. WFA training is also provided as applicable. Employees can access some areas of the ranch for recreational purposes, such as hiking, camping, and mountain biking. There is a staff discount for the store. Pro-deals are also available.

Opportunities for outdoor recreation near Trinchera Ranch are plentiful. The San Luis Valley has incredible access to public lands, with 500,000 acres of land managed by the Bureau of Land Management, 1.8 million acres of forest managed by the Rio Grande National Forest, and 149,028 acres within Great Sand Dunes National Park and Preserve.
