Established in 1928, the South Shore YMCA Camp Burgess and Hayward has been a leader in Massachusetts camping for over 90 years. Located on Cape Cod just one hour south of Boston in the historic town of Sandwich, the brother-sister camps are situated on over 300 acres of forests, meadows and sparkling freshwater ponds. With one and two-week sessions, Camp Burgess & Hayward have programs for boys and girls ages 7-16.
Our program provides campers with an engaging and supportive environment that encourages hands-on learning, self-expression, leadership building, and an appreciation for the natural world. By learning new skills, our campers will develop self confidence and self respect, based on an appreciation of their own worth as individuals. Campers experience independence and problem solving skills as they learn to live and explore their interests.

Camp Burgess & Hayward offers both seasonal, part-time, and full-time career opportunities. Most employment opportunities are seasonal. Our Summer Camp and Teen Adventure Trips run in the summer months only, while our Outdoor Education program runs in the spring and fall.
