Job Overview
As the summer Challenge Course Director, you will be empowered to plan and coordinate facilitation of high and low ropes courses; oversee course scheduling, equipment management and serve as lead facilitator.
- Develop and deliver a challenge course program that is appropriate for the age and abilities of campers while providing skills progression
- Supervise all challenge course activities, ensuring campers and staff are participating in a safe manner, and in compliance with all safety policies and procedures
- Ensure all challenge course activities comply with ACCT and ACA guidelines
- Supervise challenge course staff
- Coordinate belay, skills refreshers, and enrichment training
- Conduct safety and equipment inspections
- Monitor equipment inventory and supplies
- Participate and assist with general camp activities and operations
- Perform other duties, as assigned

Minimum Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Able to work the full summer camp season - June 21st - August 13th
- Ability to work with children and staff of different ages
- AACT Level 1 certification required, or 2-3 years documented experience in rock climbing and/or challenge course facilitation; Level 2 is highly preferred
- At least 4 weeks in management/supervisory experience at a high ropes challenge course within the past 3 years
- Ability to climb and withstand heights with a high comfort level
- Wilderness First Aid or other advanced certification is highly preferred
- Must be willing to work in an outdoor setting and live on camp premises during the summer
- Current First Aid/CPR/AED certification, or able to obtain certification before the first day of work
- Valid drivers’ license, proof of insurance and access to reliable transportation (Daily and/or occasional travel may be required. Must be comfortable driving narrow, winding mountain roads with passengers in mini or cargo vans)
