Steamboat Springs Transit is looking to fill seasonal bus driver positions with reliable safe drivers.

Howelsen Hill Skiing and Skating Pass – also available to immediate family members
These benefits are in addition to mandated benefits such as: workers’ compensation, unemployment insurance, and social security.
The qualified individual:
Our paid training class will begin on October 20, 2021. The 4 and 1/2 week – 160-hour training class is designed to help anyone obtain their Colorado CDL Class B driver’s license. We will pay you $12.32 an hour to attend the CDL class. Once you successfully obtain your CDL and pass the training class, you can begin as a full-time bus driver starting at $20.13 per hour.
Steamboat Springs Transit offers an early sign-on bonus of $350 for trainees who complete all paperwork for employment by October 1, 2021. A bonus of $1.00 an hour for every hour worked during the winter season is also given to those who work through the whole season. Finally, an extra $1.00 an hour is offered to all shifts that run significantly past midnight.
The typical working week is 37-39 hours made up of 4- & 5-day work weeks. The newer bus drivers usually work weekends & nights. Winter bus service is from 5:00am to 3:00am daily.
Our bus drivers are responsible for safely operating a public transportation bus and transporting passengers on a prescribed route, on time and in accordance with local, state, and federal standards. Our drivers must practice safe defensive driving techniques, be knowledgeable of the area, provide guests with schedule/route information, assist disabled guests on and off the bus, and complete reports of all accidents, damage, or incidents. Our bus drivers will also be assigned to bus wash duties as part of their normal working shift.
