Job Overview

Deer Mountain Day Camp is seeking a candidate who has a strong background in wilderness skills training and outdoor adventure. As an Outdoor Adventure Instructor, you will be responsible for leading our “Camper vs Wild” activity, which teaches campers the fundamentals of fire building, tent making, orienteering, etc. Experience working in a camp setting a plus. Experience with other activity areas (Rock Climbing/High Ropes, Boating/Fishing, Environmental Science/Nature, STEM, Archery) a plus.

Camp Dates:

• 2021 Season: June 28th-August 20th (except July 5th)
• Monday to Friday: 8:30 am to 4:30 pm
• Available for all pre-season staff trainings (selected days in June 2021)
• Available one Saturday in August 2021 for an event at camp
• Daily Lunch provided
• Transportation available for candidates from New York City (Manhattan & Brooklyn), Westchester and Bergen counties, Hoboken, Jersey City

Deer Mountain Day is located in Pomona, NY at the base of the Ramapo Mountains. We are a town away from Woodcliff Lake, Mahwah, Montvale and Suffern and 25 minutes from the George Washington Bridge. We serve campers ranging in age from 3 to 15 who come from Rockland, Bergen, Orange and Westchester Counties and New York City.
