Job Overview
The Program/Leadership Director is responsible for assisting in the development and implementation of camp wide programming with a focus on All Camp and Leadership programs. This person should have program planning and supervisory experience; as well as experience working with kids ages 13 – 18 years old. Experience in a camp setting is preferred. They will work with the rest of the Administrative team in assisting the Unit Leaders and Counselors with master scheduling and logistics. The Program / Leadership Director will take charge of the Leadership camps (Counselor and Wrangler in Training, Program Aides) and assist the Unit Counselors in directly facilitating programming with the campers. Wilderness First Aid certification desired. Directly supervises Leadership Programs (staff and campers). Works with the rest of the Admin team for reviews, staff meetings, conflict resolution, and other camp duties as needed (may include covering breaks for counselors, running into town to pick up supplies, organizing and running rainy day programming, calling parents about behavior problems, etc).
All positions include room and board and staff must live onsite for the duration of their employment. We have two resident camps that run consecutively (one in June, one in July) and a day camp property in Albuquerque that will run June – July. We are a gender specific camp accepting girls and non binary children in grades Kinder – 12th grade (primary age groups 3rd – 6th). Staff training is the end of May through the beginning of June on site at our Angel Fire, NM property.
Work dates are end of May through the beginning of August. Work locations are Rancho del Chaparral Summer Camp (45 minutes outside Cuba, NM) and Camp Elliott Barker Summer Camp (Angel Fire, NM).
Minimum Requirements
