The Health Supervisor is responsible for providing physical, emotional, and mental health and safety services to campers and staff. Tasks will include taking care of sick campers, managing and distributing daily and as needed medication, keeping an organized health center, administering emergency first aid, performing daily/weekly checks of living units (for cleanliness, etc), supporting and guiding staff through high stress situations, working with the admin team on staff and camper behavior, completing daily and weekly paperwork, and assisting in other daily programming as assigned by the Admin Team.
Knowledge of Girl Scout program desired. Promote high standards in all aspects of the health and wellness. Serve as a role model to campers and staff by your actions, appearance, manners, language, and general conduct. Participate enthusiastically in camp activities, assisting in those other duties as assigned.
All positions include room and board and staff must live onsite for the duration of their employment. We have two resident camps that run consecutively (one in June, one in July) and a day camp property in Albuquerque that will run June – July. We are a gender specific camp accepting girls and non binary children in grades Kinder – 12th grade (primary age groups 3rd – 6th). Staff training is the end of May through the beginning of June on site at our Angel Fire, NM property.
Work dates are end of May through the beginning of August. Work locations are Rancho del Chaparral Summer Camp (45 minutes outside Cuba, NM) and Camp Elliott Barker Summer Camp (Angel Fire, NM).
Must be 21, with a valid driver's license, and willing to drive company vehicles (transport children, staff, luggage, shopping trips, etc).
Minimum of EMT / WFR license required, CNA and RN preferred. Current students or retirees who used to hold licenses welcome to apply.
