Avid4 Adventure empowers kids to choose an active, outdoor lifestyle. As a Rock Climbing Supervisor, you will oversee the entire climbing program from start to finish, including top-rope climbing, bouldering, and tree climbing. The Rock Climbing Supervisor works with two instructors and a group of up to thirteen campers on designated climbing days. This role will report to the Manager of Camper Experience.

The Top Responsibilities for the Rock Climbing Supervisor:

I. Program Design and Implementation

Implement lesson plans for top-rope climbing, bouldering, and tree climbing.
Evaluate camper skill levels and teach an appropriate skill progression for each age group.
Provide oversight and support for staff running tree climbing and bouldering independently.

II. Equipment Oversight

Perform basic maintenance of climbing gear.
Document safety inspections for licensing and accreditation.
Report any damages to the camp director.
Inventory gear weekly.

III. Program Team Support

Provide support to the camp program team with dining hall themes, evening events, clubs, etc. as needed.
Provide supervision of campers as needed.
Attend weekly staff meetings.
All other duties as assigned by the camp director.

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum 21+ years of age.
  • Bachelor’s degree in science, education, or related field preferred.
  • Valid Driver’s License, Wilderness First Aid (WFA) and CPR.
  • Previous experience teaching top-rope climbing and bouldering skills.
  • Experience leading youth and a passion for working with kids.
  • Ability to handle high-stress environments and handle a variety of tasks.
