Job Overview
  1. Insight Adventures Interns are expected to assist in the positive and continuous
    development of the company as well as performing routine day-to-day duties and
    fostering a favourable and enjoyable professional environment.

    1. Overview
      Based in Insight Adventure’s Yangshuo Office, however extensive travel may
      be required
      Reports to HR Manager and Operations Manager
      Minimum 21 work days per month, depending on trips weekends and holidays
      may be required.
      Contract length is approximately 6 months (one season)
      Salary is 3000 CNY per month
    2. Requirements                                                                                                                                                          Conversational English, ability to adapt to different cultures.
      Interested in the outdoors
      Physically competent
      Motivation to learn new skills and work in a dynamic team of people
      Act as a role model for the participants
      Be responsible for expectation setting and reflection sessions throughout the
      trip.
      Be First Aid trained
      Follow the Insight Adventures code of conduct

    Roles and Responsibilities

    1. An Intern Instructor should expect to work in numerous roles including:
      Assistant Group Leader
      Group Leader
      Assistant Trip Leader

     

    1. Specific Duties
      To uphold Insight Adventures philosophy and act as role model both within
      and outside the company.
      To identify any special considerations of individuals and ensure all relevant
      staff, suppliers or business partners are informed.
      Ensure participants are kept in a safe and enjoyable environment at all times
      during a trip and provided the best quality service.
      Able to carry out the required support role during trip(s), to its customers and
      staff by providing general assistance.
    2. As a group leader you will take on the responsibility of a group of participants
      and facilitate it through an Insight Adventures program.
      Able to communicate to participants about the programs, activities and
      manage the logistics of all assigned trips.
      For non-native speakers you are required to be able to communicate
      effectively with our participants using the English language.
      Ensuring that all activity equipment is kept in a good condition, used correctly,
      and returned after usage.
      To monitor duty rosters so that when rostered, you are aware and attend on
      time.
    3. General Duties
      Identify risks and hazards and manage them as per the company risk
      assessment and management policies.
      In the event of crisis or emergency, provide group management and first aid as
      required.
      Be an exemplar of the Insight Adventures philosophy, mission and core values
      in all dealings with staff, business partners, participants and public.
      Be knowledgeable about the activities and locations so that you can answer
      participant’s questions.
      Adhere to company policies and procedures.
      Attend staff meetings as required and possible contributes to the continual
      improvement of the business by providing suggestions and ideas to core staff
      members.
