Position Description
The Youth Educator AmeriCorps will be an essential member of KTMB’s team. This person will primarily schedule and present Warriors lessons to K-12 students throughout Washoe County for school classrooms, after-school clubs, summer day camps, and other youth programs. The Youth Educator will maintain relationships with the educators who request to schedule Warriors presentations, obtain and upload data from each presentation, and prepare and refill supplies for each presentation. The Youth Educator will also assist the Youth Education Coordinator with enhancing the curricula and conducting KTMB’s biannual teacher training event.
KTMB’s Youth Education program targets underserved public schools to empower students to problem-solve neighborhood blight and other environmental issues that lower the quality of life, health, and economy in the Truckee Meadows. This AmeriCorps member will also help schedule and present field trips for elementary school students to KTMB’s Sensory Garden at Idlewild Park. The Youth Educator AmeriCorps will also have the opportunity to represent KTMB during community events and fulfill other duties as assigned.
Service Location: Reno, NV
Timeline for Service: June 1st, 2021 – August 13th, 2021
This position contract renews for the 2021-2022 term, and the incoming AmeriCorps member is eligible to apply.

KTMB’s Community Educator AmeriCorps position is funded by the Corporation for National and Community Service and will serve within the AmeriCorps program. AmeriCorps is your chance to be the greater good! Each AmeriCorps member makes a year-long, full-time commitment to serve at a nonprofit organization or public agency. Compensation
In return for their service, AmeriCorps members receive a modest living allowance of $3,780, and a Segal AmeriCorps Education Award of $1,638.89.
