Summer Youth Corps crew leaders grow personally and professionally during their summer service term while gaining hands-on skills in conservation and youth development. Crew leaders train and supervise youth crew members on project work and lead educational and recreational activities during this summer residential program based in St. Croix State Park. Crews complete natural resources projects in partnership with public land management agencies such as the State Department of Natural Resources, US Fish & Wildlife Service, National Park Service, cities, counties, and trail associations. Projects vary by location, but may include:
We provide hands-on job skills training and certifications. This position does not require prior experience in natural resources.

Since the late 1970s, Summer Youth Corps crews and all education/recreation activities have been inclusive, with American Sign Language (ASL) interpreters. Deaf and hard-of-hearing young adults, ASL interpreters, and anyone studying ASL is encouraged to apply.
